Huzzah! Project 3 for Kids Clothes Week complete! Earlier in the week I finished both the Bimaa Sweater for my Little and Bob the Builder Winter PJs for my Big Boy and today I managed to finish another wardrobe staple for my 3 year old.
I’d been eyeing off the Small Fry Skinny Jeans pattern for AGES and finally bought it last month after following the pattern tour. And I’m sooo glad I did!
They definitely weren’t a quick sew but with the fabulously detailed instructions they weren’t difficult at all! And I can’t believe how professional looking they’ve turned out.
There’s a HUGE amount of topstitching which I was a bit worried about as mine can often be uneven but following the tips in the pattern, it actually turned out really well.
I used a pretty basic looking stretch denim and as I was cutting them out I wondered whether these ones might end up being a test run if they came out too plain looking. But I think with the topstitching it really breaks up the monotony of the dark blue.
Using a contrast fabric for the waistband facing and inside of the pockets adds a bit of fun. Once I’d finished putting the front button on my Big Boy couldn’t wait to try on his “Race Car Jeans”!
If you’re looking for a great skinny jeans pattern then I definitely recommend giving this one a go.
So I’m on a race to the finish now – one more project to complete tomorrow which might be a challenge as I’ve also got two kids to look after with hubby out for the day.
Wish me luck!
