Here are a few things I love…. Sewing, Australia, Pinterest.

Ok so there ARE a few others (you know like my husband, kids, friends etc)  but let’s just say for the purposes of this post that these are my top three.

This is why I decided to start up the Pinterest board “Sewing Down Under” to showcase the projects, patterns and tutorials made by our talented fellow Aussie and Kiwi sewists.

It’s not that I don’t enjoy seeing all the amazing creations made by our northern hemisphere friends.  In fact some of my favourite pattern designers and bloggers are from the UK and USA.

But I thought it would be really great for us to be able to share sewing projects appropriate to our current seasons & holidays, like fun summer Christmas projects, or Father’s Day (in September) or Australia Day for example.

And let’s face it, there’s like a gazillion bloggers up north and only a handful of us down here (proportions exaggerated for dramatic effect) so it will be a great way for us to view and share our homegrown talent.

Here are the contributors so far…

Ros – Sew Delicious

Julia – Julia Bobbin

Liz – Sewn by Elizabeth

Renee – Nearest the Pin

Jenya – While She’s Sleeping

Abby – Things for Boys

Pam – Threading My Way

Sophie – Ada Spragg formerly (Cirque du bebe)

Jenny – Mend and Make New

You can check out the new “Sewing Down Under” Pinterest board here and if you’re a fellow Australian or New Zealand sewist and would like to be a contributor, feel free to send me an email nataliew919 {at} gmail {dot} com and don’t forget to follow me on Pinterest here.

Happy pinning!
