The Schoolboy Vest pattern is here!! I’m so thrilled to be able to share this project with you today. Abby from Sew Much Ado put out a call for pattern testers for this adorable vest recently and she accepted my application – wooo!
The Schoolboy Vest pattern comes in sizes 6m – 12 years, is fully lined and has a variety of options including welt or faux welt pockets, the addition of back ties and the option to make it reversible. This makes it super easy for you to whip together either a really basic (quick!) vest or something a bit more fancy shmancy.
I was asked to make the 6-12 month size with faux welt pockets (no back ties). It’s a beautifully put together pattern with amazingly detailed instructions and photos to match so it was a breeze to sew.
This size was a perfect snug fit around Mr Little’s 6 month rotund belly so if you’re wanting it to last for a while,
it might be worth going up a size if you’re bub loves his food like mine. (Oops, I take it back! Abby has adjusted the sizing in the final version of the pattern to cater for our round-bellied babes – thanks Abby!) But, saying that, it’s such a quick sew it’s no issue if you have to make another one in a few months!
I think it looks adorable on Mr Little and I’m making another one for the Big Boy as part of the outfit he’ll be wearing to my gorgeous friend’s wedding in a couple of weeks.
If you have boys then you should definitely check out this pattern! You can see Abby’s gorgeous boys in their vests and find out where to buy the pattern here.
