The Rowan Boys Tee: sewing pattern release by Titchy Threads today!

I’ve been doing a fair bit of pattern testing lately which I’m LOVING!  I work well with deadlines.  It helps me focus on getting one project started and finished without getting distracted… ooooo look! pretty fabric!

Anyways, today I’m sharing one of my recent pattern test faves.  Laura of Titchy Threads has been busy keeping us boy mums happy with the release of her latest pattern scheduled for today and it’s a goodie!

The Rowan Tee is the perfect wardrobe staple and comes with a heap of features to mix and match.  Laura has calculated a total of 144 possible combinations!!

This Rowan is the hoodie version with long sleeves, regular hem, no pockets.

I cut a straight size 3 and the fit is perfect.  It’s not super tight so there’s still room for growth.

This is a great easy and quick sew, especially if you’ve used knits before.  And if you haven’t, it’s a great place to start.  The instructions are clear with great photos taking you through every step of the process.  If you’re more confident, Laura has included a “cheat sheet” at the end with a quick set of instructions so you don’t have to follow through all the detailed ones if you prefer.

The stripe down the centre of the hood is a fun feature that makes it perfect for mixing and matching with fun patterned fabrics like this one.

And yes… I know what you’re thinking!  Where the hell did I find this AWESOME fabric???

I recently ordered a bunch of cotton jersey knits from a relatively new Australian supplier, Wickedly Woven.

I’ve been super impressed with the quality of the fabric – excellent weight, stretchability and recovery – and the prints are absolutely gorgeous!  I mean, it’s LLAMAS!!

We’re getting loads of wear out of this one now before it starts to heat up and I’m hoping he doesn’t grow too much over summer so we can bust it out again in autumn.  Fingers crossed.

Did you pick that he’s wearing his Small Frys too?  Top to toe Titchy Threads!  Arrggghh – the alliteration is too much!

Did I mention this week is Kids Clothes Week? I’ve got more Titchy Threads and Wickedly Woven fun coming up so I hope you’ll join me.  Email, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest…you know the drill.

Thanks for reading!
